No mention of Power Belts here. I've had good luck with the plain lead version using about 80 grains pyrodex. The belt is a gas seal, not a sabot. The bullet is full .54 caliber. Taken two elk and a moose, and I find them to be very accurate.

It looks like you can still get Powerbelts in .54 cal. I shoot the 295gr copper bullet in my .54 Marlin. It works awesome on deer.

My 54 shoots patched round balls very well. 1" groups at 50 yards with iron sights, which is good considering I can really see good with my right eye, so that 1" is mostly me!

I'm sure there are other options, aslo.

I see good with my left I so maybe we can get together!!!

I might have some 54 calibre buffalo bullets and round balls is anyone interested. Also have a buddy with 54 mold to cast. We were planning a casting session soon could cast up some bullets.
