I have nothing better to do with my life, besides drink cheap beer that is.

Tip: bring an extra mule, specifically for the beer.

It appears that several of our members live amazing outdoor lives in incredible places.

Don’t intend to state the obvious, but this really is a beautiful country in which we live is it not.

I’ve traveled a bit, but... Envious here.

Somewhere I have a picture from my college days of a few of us sitting on a couch that was strapped onto a pickup diamond plated tool box. We were driving around shooting the hell out of ground squirrels.

Beer may or may not have been involved.....like always back in those days.

That's the Bruneau River Canyon in Idaho, and it isn't even the deep or steep part.

Chukar and Cali Bighorns live their lives unmolested by people in parts of that canyon...

Sam;
Good evening to you sir, thanks for the reply. Yes for sure it's cooling off all over the west it seems. I'll be finding some big chunks of larch or Doug fir for the wood stove tonight. frown

Since we're not sticking to any particular theme here - and by the way I'm enjoying that immensely - I'll offer a few photos from here and there.

We were caught in a real goose drowner of a rain storm out hunting. On the way down the mountain we encountered this creek coming off a cattle/game trail beside the log haul road.

First big game animal I shot which they called a kongoni. It was in Kenya near the Rift Valley on Dec 30, 1975. Long story how it was we got there, not all of it good but anyway there we were.

This was '87 I believe and was my first old whitetail. The sharp eyed will recognize the blue Toyota from the sheep photo.
[Linked Image]

Somewhere in the early '90's we went up to what was then the Queen Charlotte Islands, now called Haida Gwaii. The weather was fabulous, fishing not that great but we did bring back a Sitka Blacktail. Sorry for the grainy scan.

My late father on the last hunting trip he was able to accompany me on. This was about 2000 I want to say and he passed in the spring of '03.
[Linked Image]

If this one fits in, it's the first mulie buck Dad took after a hiatus from hunting for about a decade. We'd moved to BC and I convinced him to come out on the local mountains with me.

Thanks to all once again, it's a fine thing you've all contributed to.

Keep warm all.

Dwayne

I tend to relate to the idea that 1 is too many and 12 is not enough!
