I'm interested in finding out what kind of production numbers for this caliber. I don't often see mention of this caliber and when I looked at gunbroker the only one I saw sold went for a pretty high number. I have one, made in 1911, that a neighbor's wife gave me when I was 16 ( 1961) after her husband died. I never paid much attention to it over the years, having plenty of firepower in the safe. After pulling it out and getting my favorite gunsmith to show me how the breakdown feature works and spending some time with it am more than impressed with the workmanship and design.I'll take some pictures and post them later.

Nobody knows for sure. They are uncommon, to say the least. Especially with condition - most were bought to be used and they were.

Welcome to the site. Most of the Winchester caliber rifles are pretty rare. About 3 years ago I passed on an 1899A short rifle in 38-55. It sold for $1800 and I had the money on me. I've been kicking myself ever since. Then a couple months later I got caught sleeping on the job and let another member buy an 1899B in 25-35 at a show. Now I'm kicking myself with both feet.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Just bought a new F150, so I’m on the sidelines for a while.

Ball park... 20,000-25,000, 1904 through 1917.
Probably most are buy and hold vs shoot and trade.
