I have a very clean Model 64 (1951) in 30/30. All original including the stock finish.
What's the going price range these day ?

I saw a 64 go at auction a year ago for 1400. But it was in 32 spl and had a peep sight. Was in about same condition as yours. Hope that helps.

2 years ago I bought a 64 Deluxe With A Tang Sight for $ 1400.00 at GS in Northern , WI. .32 WS.

I was not really in the market but dealer was buying other rifles and anxious to make a sale.

I thought it was a bit under priced. About same shape as yours as far as I can tell from you pic.

However , I think your 64 is very nice and the current market is hard to tell.

IIRC Colonel Townsend Whelen influenced the stock design for both rifles. Need to check my old books to verify.

I picked up a 64 .30-30 with Lyman 56 aperture sight for around $750 at Whittaker Guns in Kentucky 3-4 years ago. It was in excellent condtion--but it wasn't original: Long ago, somebody had fitted a Pachmayr ventilated pad long ago, which I replaced with a black 1/2" Decelerator. They can go for pretty fancy prices when all original.

That seems like a sweet deal. Price lowered due to the pad your smart wife knows belongs on just about any rifle, a proper rear sight, and a vintage steel one to boot. What year is it?

Nice rifle and one of the best looking lever actions to me. A friend ain't talking to me these days after I pointed out that his supposedly pre-64 was an A, one of the post 64 runs on that model.

You might want to look at Guns International and the prices on 64's. Some of them are astronomical.

I've a M94 .30-30 carbine, I believe 1957, that was my late father's. Collector valve is gone because, like so many M94's, it got D&T for a Weaver side mount. (My dad shot left handed with that scope mounted on the left side of the rifle. That had to be hard! Turns out you can mount the scope on the right side, although many don't know this and you seldom see it. I digress.) That M94 now wears a Williams receiver sight and a Lyman 17A front with Lee Shaver inserts so my 65 year old eyes can use iron sights.

The rifle is matched with a 9422 carbine, Skinner aperture and Lyman 17A. They make a nice pair.

You want to keep "family" guns, at least some of them. But sometimes I really wish that M94 carbine was a M64 rifle and that 9422 carbine was the pistol gripped, 24" barreled rifle they made a few of. That would be a nice pair too. I really don't need them, but if I ever end up with more money than I know what to do with . . . What's need got to do with it?!
