Not sure what the beef with Hawke is, I have 3 of them and they have been good scopes. I had one that failed on a 458 Lott. They had a new one enrt to me in 2 days. In fact I have two of the same model- lots of eye relief, exactly the right amount of illumination and they hold up to 458 Lott recoil- at least the 30 WA does.

That's the beef. Warrant the product not F'ing piece of paper. Cheers. I have at least eight Hawkes all purchased new from authorized retailers. Hawke can still F'off.

Mtnboomer,
Haven't really been paying attention, but did they deny you service because you don't have a paper receipt?

My list of companies I'll not purchase. What others?
No thanks HAWKE. No thanks NIKON. Nikon has a transferable warranty on sports optics. I have used it, just like I've used other companies warranties. Most recent is Zeiss, and they are handling things well. Copy that on the Nikon. You are right. I think they did that in the past few years. Working on the lists...

Mtnboomer,
Haven't really been paying attention, but did they deny you service because you don't have a paper receipt? Nope. Just found out and saw on their website they'll not even accept shipment without return authorization which can only be obtained with recipe. Chickenchit IMO. So, I'll simply not endorse the company nor purchase their products.

Swarovski and Kahles both are good to go on transferable, no receipt needed. Add this to your list.

Thanks. This is really nice to see. I am a receipt tosser. I guess I better do better at not being a tosser. (LOL I did that intentionally for Kingston)

https://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en...Scope-Non-Electronic-Warranty-Sample.pdfAbout 4 lines down, under the Lifetime Warranty section at the top, it specifically says "to original consumer purchaser only". Knowing Nikon's marketing expertise, this may or may not be true. Who knows? Not sure Nikon even knows for sure, as they sure don't know regarding thier Laserforce binos.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Re: Nikon. Possibly No fault on items with no electronics. With electric Limited lifetime on the non-electronics? I am moving them to Bad. They can clarify or file a grievance!

There is a Nikon rep on the forum. I will try to remember who it is and see if he'll chime in.

Last November I returned a Nikon riflescope for service. No original box or receipt and I am not the original owner. Great customer service and no questions asked. I had a response via email from them in less than an hour with a shipping label. This is not a high end scope.
No idea about their electronics. As others have said, I won’t be buying another Nikon scope but it isn’t because of their warranty.

I boxed a Burris up for a return trip last night. Will see how cs is this morning. I had previously called and they said send it in. That was several months ago. Will report how much hassle I have. I am not good about keeping receipts. There is probably an app that lets you take pics and organizes receipts like password vaults. Or there should be.

All this because your secondhand Hawke rifle scope broke.
