Been scrounging through the forum looking at what loads guys are using with current powders for 8 twist 223’s. There’s some threads from 2010 and 11 but there have been quite a few new powders introduced since then. Lots of 22-250 8 twist load info out there but not much on the 223. Any load info for bullets 69 gr and up would be much appreciated, snagged up a Tikka and am looking at what loads to try ( and yes I’m aware of the mag constraints , that will be taken care of).

I've settled on Varget for both the AR and bolt...

Varget for me too....
Lots of local guys running CFE200 and heavies with good velocity. If I ever run out of Varget, I may give it a whirl.

I haven’t found anything that works any better than 25.5 of Varget in Remington cases with a 75 grain A-Max. 2950 ft./s and very nice accuracy.
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

For those of you using Varget with 75 grain Hornady HPBT or A Max what Seating Die are you using? I have Hornady Match dies with the specific A Max Seating stem and a RCBS Competition die set and they both deform the bullets compressing the powder when I load to AR mag length.

8208 has proven to be good stuff in .223AI with 75's.
Temp stable, meters good and low spreads with good velocity.
Worth a look.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

I use Varget with 62 Barnes for pigs. Kills them well.

In that rifle, with CCI400s, 25.0 Varget clocks 2880 FPS and 25.5 gives the 2950.

I’m your huckleberry Muzzle velocity is 2990. BC is .416. I loaded a bunch more +- .02” from this depth, looking for one hole. Tikka 1-8”. You’ll need an aftermarket mag, the OAL goes beyond the plastic factory mag. P
Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

Appreciate the info, looks like I’ll need to find some powder I don’t have. Varget has been extinct for a while , might look for some of the others mentioned. As far as mag constraints I’m trying to decide to go full AICS or save some money using the billet mags from mountain tactical.

Lever in my 223 though I might look elsewhere if temp stability becomes an issue. I shoot in 100+ degree variations throughout the year so I'll have to do some further testing.
In my 26" barreled SAAMI 223 I'm seeing 2970 fps with 75s.
