Im some what kinda new to wildcats. and im wanting to build a 25-300 wsm on a Savage model 12 stainless short action small shank.
i have a few questions here. im wanting to put a shilen 26inh varmint barrel on it. they offer this chamber of 25-300wsm with a neck turn of .264 and .287 which one do you think i should go with?
i will be using 270 wsm brass to form from. and be shooting a 100 grain nosler ballistic tip.

ive actually never neck turned any brass. So it will be all new to me.
from what i uderstand i will need a neck durning tool, expander mandrel. and tube mic .
is that correct ?

i will be using 270 wsm brass to form from. and be shooting a 100 grain nosler ballistic tip. Poor route of travel,given that bullet alone. They simply suck ass,from any all angles...even at 3700fps++. It wears a sub .400 BC(.393) and it is easy to magnificently whip it's ass,in a standard boltface,burning farrrrr less powder,gaining more rounds in the belly and with less noise and recoil. Hint. I apologize for not being able to help you with your project as I have no experience with that round.
I do have some experience with Stick, I am not sure what he said as he is on ignore, ignore is a nice feature it may serve you well in dealing with the troll.....

Savageseven, Get some brass, some measuring tools, and figure out which reamer you prefer. Then some good dies, several powders, and a chronograph. It will be an adventure! But, time spent at the reloading bench and burning up barrels is what we do!
