This buttstock is one I purchased for a rifle that I no longer have. It had never been mounted on a rifle before I received it from the original owner. I "cracked" it in the base of the tang area attempting to gently "tap" it on my rifle with a rubber mallet. I have never attempted to repair it. It is hard to even spread the wood apart far enough to see the crack for a picture.. If you have a 64 with a cut stock/pad or short stock, this might be a good deal for you. My loss is your gain.
