After moving to WY and enjoying my first archery elk season, it became apparent that I need to upgrade my gear. What was ok in AZ does not work in WY. I can only afford to upgrade a few items each year. This year a 15 degree bag and rain gear are on the list. I have been going back and forth between the Marmot Helium long and Marmot Sawtooth Long/Wide. I have read alot of reviews on the bags, but I would like some real world experience/advice. Does anyone use/pack the Sawtooth Long? If so, how does it back down. It is quite a bit heavier than the Helium, but I am really concerned about loosing to much room in my pack.

I have a Sawtooth long and have used it with no complaints. It is a solid bag but with 650 fill if I remember correctly you will pay a small weight and size penalty. The last I used it I did 5 days out of a 4500" pack and had no troubles. Weight and warmth are premium to me and I upgraded to a 0 deg bag, Lithium, which is lighter than the Sawtooth. I've kept both though and have no plans of getting rid of the Sawtooth. I use Sea to Summit e-vent compression bags and that helps to get both bags down pretty small and keeps them dry. HD

My bag doesn't go in my pack. Sea to Summit compression bags are great.
