Mine is a model 7 Predator 243. It handles great and shoots excellent. A friend just bought an 18.5” barrel laminate stock model 7 in 243. It is probably the most poorly balanced rifle I’ve ever held. It feels like 3/4 of the rifle weight is behind the trigger guard.

I loved mine to death, had it in a black and white mickey classic with a 6x36, 7SAUM. thing was way more accurate than I was; only reason i offloaded it was i wasn't using it to its potential and was burning a ton of powder. 7-08 was a more reasonable choice and through the generosity of some damn good fellas, I ended up in one that's never goin anywhere.

ETA found a shot.

I have a 708 model 7 stainless, its now my go to rifle. My son shoots a model 7 youth in 708....and I still have my old 243 from when I was a kid.

Another one to the consider, which runs about 200 more is the 700 mountain in 708 with the b&c stock upgrade on it. Sharp rifle.

Anyone have any experience with the Mountain Rifle with the B&C stock? Accuracy, build quality, stock quality, etc?

I've got two. A model 7 predator in 243 and an LSS is 22-250, both are good shooters. As someone mentioned, there are fewer accessories (stocks, etc) for model sevens than there are 700s.

My Model 7 SS will outshoot me and isn’t particularly picky about loads. But I agree that the biggest drawback is the limited aftermarket options. I’d love to lighten mine up a half a pound or so.

No, but I've got a .280 in titanium stock (standard ADL) and it's my go-to rifle

No but Ive got experience with the mountain rifles, and with that B&C stock.

I like Model Sevens but like Pat..I just prefer a 700..

I have and shoot both, but the Sevens get left behind more often....cant really put my finger on why...

I have 2 Model 7's presently and no 700's. I had more trouble with a 223 700 adl getting it to feed and it only shot well with bullets under 50 grains. Took a while to find the right loads to, traded it off. My circa 1972 BDL in 270 was a favorite rifle, shot it out and should have rebarreled it, still regret selling it.

In 7-08. Nothing fancy, probably will sport a 4x fixed power scope and will ride a lot in the truck during deer season. Thanks in advanced for the input.

Great little deer & hog rifles. I’ve had one in 7-08 forever. Mine is very accurate with 140 Nosler Ballistic Tips & has taken a ton of deer & hogs here at the Ranch.

Tom and I have discussed this before. I like every intention of the Mdl Seven. The execution just doesn't do it for me.

It does not get any better! I got my younger son a model 7 in 7mm08 for his 15th birthday. It had a four power Weaver scope. It just worked!

You may find it will so well, it will be pulled from the truck and hunted. You cannot go wrong with your choice.

I have a model 7 stainless in 7mm08 as does my dad. I set them both up the same, talleys and 2-7 Leupy. Mine now has a B&C, still love it. They both shoot the Barnes factory 120’s well. Not so well with the 140AB factory load. Going to load some 170’s before long, Partitions or Grand Slams? if i recall where a box is.

My boy has one, very accurate, we replaced the trigger. He has killed quite a few deer with it. It has a 3.5x10 Leupold on it

This is yet another resurrection of an old thread.

This one originally ran from 02/20/19 thru 02/28/19, so the OP has probably done whatever he was going to do by now.
