I've not had a Boker in a long, long time.

I did find this one that looks decent. Taiwan made though?

For a inexpensive knife with good materials, these are great EDC beater knives.

I carry a Buck knife currently and have carried a lot of others as well. I like the CRKT and Spyderco's, For my normal daily use though, the Buck suits me just fine.

I've been to the Spyderco factory a few times. They have a retail showroom with all their products in it. I like their higher end stuff, but their low end is, well very low end. As others have said, choose their American made products, which tends to represent their higher quality products. The other thing to look for are metal liners, a LOT of their folders are just "plastic" slabs that hold the blade in place - no metal in the handle. Some even rivet the blade through the handle, not even a nut/bolt. The only exception to these two requirements would be their H1 line, or ocean rated knives. The steel is literally rust proof - I've SCUBA'd with them and left them untouched for a week in a BCD. No rust, none. They have the all plastic handles (which I despise), but the steel works well.

I have some Spyderco's, SOG's, Cold Steel, Buck, Gerber, and Boker. Maybe another one or two my reno contractors didn't steal.

Usually i carry a rat 2 everyday. Great beater knife that sharpens easily

The buck 110 slim models are nice. Cheaper ones have a plastic handle and 440c. Thinner than normal 110 The upscale version is micarta and s30v. Thumb studs for easy opening.

I had a Boker that was an auto and really loved it till I lost it this hunting season. I have a hard time finding it on amazon or ebay and knowing for sure its the right model. I believe it was one of their "kalashnikov" models. I paid like $60 for it. I will buy another as soon as I can find one.
Was gonna just buy a benchmade auto till I heard the news. I have a benchmade thats smaller and not auto that I like fine. But I feel like the Boker is as good as my benchmade and cost half the price.

Carried a knife ever since I was like 7 years old. I don't think I've ever considered using my knife for personal protection.

I guess I would if things went south and I was down to not having a gun of any sort at hand. It just simply doesn't even cross my mind. Maybe I just take it in stride that I'm armed when I have a knife.

In rare occasions I find myself without my knife, like in courthouses, etc., I do not feel complete, and am uncomfortable not having one on my person.... So maybe I do consider a knife a weapon I would resort to...

I'm kind of with you on hat, RBB - I've carried a pocket knife since I was 6.
The last 40 years, or so it's usually been a mini-trapper. Anymore I prefer Moore Maker, but we don't have a dealer in town, anymore.
I've had good luck with a Kershaw I carry in the truck - keeps an edge better than anything I've had cutting plastic twine off bales.

rockinbbar;

That Boker is one good looking knife!

Been packing Benchmade knifes for years, but will give one of these Bokers a tray next time I buy.
