There is a gap between the the .338" and the .358" in the modern bolt action rifle. Here's what I'm thinking, necking up either the .340 Wby or .338 RUM up to .348". I will name the cartridge .348 WTF. A 250 grain bullet at 2900+ fps from a 24" barrel. Also a 195 grain bullet at 3100+ fps just because. I would build a Interterms Mark X with a 1-10 twist, and a very expensive English walnut stock and top it with a Leupold 3.5x10.
Another way to go is the .35 Whelen or .338/06 necked down or up loaded with the same bullets. Or the .338 Win or .358 Norma necked up or down. In the standard or magnum you all name the cartridge.
Now lets hear your build.
