Truthfully I use Lever in my 30-30 AI and had no idea it would work in the 223. Hope it shoots. 2925 fps seems fast but I won't bitch if I get that from my 22 inch barrel.

OK I tried LVR in my 223, Rifle being a 1-9 twist M7 predator. Stick recommended using the CCI 200 and Lapua brass. Well this ammo will also be used in AR's so I used the CCI450 and I didn't have any Lapua Brass so I used what I have which is PPU. This brass is 4 grains heavier than LC military brass and usually shows pressure a couple grains sooner than commercial Winchester brass. I started at 23.0 grains under a 75 gr. Hornady BTHP working up in half grain increments 2 shots at a time until I got to 26.5 grains where I noticed the slightest of cratering around the firing pin strike so I chose 26.0 grains to load 6 rounds for two 3 shot groups. The first group of three made a .518 triangle and the second group of .726. Weather is in the 40's with a 10-15 mile an hour wind coming from the SE. So I figured this was good enough. Final POI was an inch higher than my usual load of 22.8 grains of AA2520 under the same bullet popped by the same primer. No chrony but the load is accurate and does seem a bit faster than the AA2520 loading. If LVR is easy to find in your neighborhood and you like heavy bullets I say it is worth a try. As for the powder itself it is very dense and was not compressed much with the 26.0 gr. load I'm sticking with.

Good report. I’m all set up to roll some ammo tonight and go shoot it tomorrow. 75 ELDM’s, 75 HPBT’s and 77 TMK’s.

Rick would you say that starting at 23 gr of LVR was quite mild? BS advised me starting at 25.

Yes I was just worried about the heavy brass and using a mag primer. 25gr. was fine and when it warms up I may have to drop back a bit.

I have used it under 150 gr. bullets in my 30-30AI and 140 gr. bullets in my Grendel, excellent velocities and accuracy with both. Need to find another pound of it somewhere.

Well Stick wasn’t lieing, the Lever works good with the heavy 75’s. I was able to get just over 2900 with 26 grains and accuracy was good. No pressure signs. I had some issues filling the cases last night with the funnel I have and even had some powder static clinging to the mouths. But even with my loads not being exactly precision in weight the loads shot real well. I purchased a better funnel today and am going to play with seating depth some. I started .02 off the lands and I think I need to get closer. Picked up another pound of Lever today!

I also forgot to add that the Mountain Tactical extended billet mag worked like a champ with the longer bullets. I loaded the 75 ELDM’s at 2.44 and had had room to spare in the mag.

My rifle has a 1-9 twist and I was able to seat the Hornady 75 hpbt's just off the rifling at 2.3. How long is your barrel?

22.4”

I bought some 75 HPBT’s but haven’t loaded them yet. The cluster I was dealing with regarding my powder funnel made me want to wait to load anything else up.

I use transmission fluid on an old ink pad because it is easy to wipe off the brass and Armaloy Protectant for inside the case necks. Applied with a short piece of cleaning rod and a patch. Powder rarely sticks to it unless your patch is way to wet.

Someone who "knows" and "does" as "much" as you, will always be best served by asking questions...rather than giving "answers". Hint. Congratulations?!?

Have you experienced the Lever sticking to the inside of the mouths too?
