Yep, I know you enjoy nicely built rifles....And I like even more that you hunt them. Always seemed strange to spend the coin to build a rifle you want, but not use it to it’s potential. We all usually find out someday our custom builds usually won’t return the cash we spent if sold.

Why not hunt the schit outta something you wanted enough to spend good money on. I use mine, too. It’s why I had them built. 😎

I saw an E variant grab a small dozer in East Timor. Took a couple of tries since the mud was making a little suction to the tracks. They moved it a few feet and the 53 made off with it. It was a cool sight though. The pilot was the MEU XO who flew for awhile with the 160th and was rumored to have the most hours in a 53 as any pilot at the time. Great dude.

Great pic of Marines in dress. My son has one like it with his MSG detachment at the Parthenon when he was in Greece. He was with the MSG detachment that had to evacuate the ambassadors and personnel before the strike on the airport in Belgrade....

If you've hunted Mt. Emily we've tramped some of the same country. i recognize almost all of that country in your pics... One of my favorite spots to hunt but getting harder every year to get a tag....

I usually put my 1st choice for spikes so we do well on that draw. I’ll leave the monsters for those that can wait 20 years to hunt elk.

I think those pictures are from around 9 Mile and Buck MTN. It’s my favorite place to hunt elk since there seems to be so many monsters there. The spikes fill coolers though. My hunting partner has been hunting Emily since the 60’s. A lot of fun for us.

17’s are good for robins and such. I’ll happily take the 22 MAG.... haha

Who was he? A dozer is a breeze for a CH53E, They had to lift it easy so they could control the load. If they just snatched it out it would be swinging everywhere.

The Marine Corps needs to go to a full on civilian Phase team. Let the Marines take care of the daily maintenance and light scheduled maintenance. They will get so much more life out of the Kilo that way. Plus will give the Marines a much needed break from the long hours and 6 day work weeks. Which will also give more time for PT, Rifle range, and other training. Most from the ground side don't understand the work load put on the Air Wing. My first SGTMAJ was from the ground side, SgtMaj Helmkamp he wanted to be a hard azz, was going to change the way we did things. That didn't last too long. As soon as we lost our 95% mission readiness the CO was in his azz! He mellowed out a little and was actually a pretty dam good SgtMaj after that.
