Picked up a new to me Interarms mkX in 7mm Rem mag. The twist is 1-10". I am thinking 160 Acubonds or the 165 Gamechangers for Whitetail to elk to 500 yards. The increased BCs have me looking at the gamechanger. I've heard the 162 ELDx are a bit too explosive for elk. I know one guy shot a deer, never looked for it, complained to serria, something like that. Heck flukes happen with all bullets. Any more info on the gamechangers? Thoughts?

They make a 105gr GameChanger now? Where’d you find that info?

Well I posted my experience here with the GameChangers but it was with the uber cool Creedmoor so you may not be interested.

I killed an elk this winter with the 165 gr, 7mm GameChanger. Broadside shot, 80 or 100 yards, entrance and exit.

And the February issue of Handloader did a review of them. As expected from a non-bonded bullet the bullet lost its core at high velocity impact. The author tested the 140-grain 27 cal bullet for the article.

Editing to add: The February issue of Handloader Magazine's article is penned by Rick Jamison. Excellent article, appears on page 10, Practical Handloading.

I also called Sierra in August when the bullets came out to identify if they considered the 165 grain 7 mm bullet an elk bullet when launched from a 7 Mashburn. The tech I talked with said they designed the 165 gr 7mm bullet for the 7 Rem Mag and it's a tough bullet. I don't know the definition of "tough" with regard to my perception / his perception. But it killed the elk I shot with it.
