G Meister's bug splatter reminded me of this.

You just gotta way of do'n a layout that most people don't ever get.
I was doing some research of the Northeast counties of Montana for some of my families history and I ran across a photographer named Olson and his work of Malta and Fort Peck. Would that be any kin of yours? This would be 1905 to 1923.

I thank you for the remarks but I'm afraid you are being too generous!

That's just a Canon G15 that is on auto mode 75% of the time.

I will admit to fiddling with pic images on photobucket but that is only an attempt to make the image appear to be as I remember seeing it. I hate for things to look altered or 'pushed' in any way.

Other than my parents I'm not related to any other Olson's.

Great piece of wood. Looking at it, I bet that piece was harder than woodpecker lips to cut. I have a couple pieces of French Walnut and a piece of English I am going to start on in a couple months that I'll have to post when I get there. Working on a piece of Oregon walnut right now that looked pretty plain when I started on it, but the more I cut, the better it is looking I'll post pics when it gets finish shaped.... I guess I could order McMillan for all my rifles but I just like wood too much and the working with it to have glass on everything....

It is American Walnut and I don't know how hard it was to cut. I could see some figure with the blank, but my gosh not anything like in the pictures!

I would love to see the French and English stocks when you done. I really like wood stocks with "Fiddleback" or as I call them "Tiger stripes."
