Oklahoma Senate votes today and it is expected to pass, it has already passed the house.......if it passes the senate today, the Gov. says he will sign it......there is talk that he will sign it today.
If signed today, it will still not go into effect until November. The November time frame is common and normal protocol for all legislation passed in this legislative session.

What exactly is permit less carry? In regards to ND. You'll have to check the laws to be sure, but generally permitless or Constitutional Carry means exactly that. Carry how you want with or without a CCW. IOW, you can carry concealed or open without a CCW, the only restrictions being places like court houses, post offices, etc. Check the state's law for restricted places. If the state had CCW, you can carry without CCW generally, in the places where CCW was/is "allowed".

The measure passed the Senate on Wednesday by a vote of 40-6. Stitt has set a ceremony for 4:30 p.m. in the Blue Room at the state Capitol to sign HB 2597, his office announced. It is the first bill to arrive on his desk. Former Gov. Mary Fallin vetoed a constitutional carry bill last May, citing safety concerns.

I'm hoping it will be reciprocal since we've already got Constitutional Carry up here.
Oklahoma already recognizes carry rights for residents of Constitutional Carry states........all you need is a driver's license or state issued ID proving you are a resident of a Constitutional Carry state. That was one of the big issues for Oklahoma residents.......the state recognized the rights of non-residents to carry, in Oklahoma, without a permit if their state allowed it, but Oklahoma would not allow its own residents to carry without a permit. https://osbi.ok.gov/handgun-licensing/faqCan I carry in Oklahoma if I have a license from another state?Oklahoma recognizes any valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state. If you are from a state that allows you to carry a handgun but does not issue permits or licenses, Oklahoma reciprocates under the permitting law of your state.

Yes, that is normal, just mentioned it so people wouldn't get the idea that they can carry without a permit as soon as it is signed.......I guarantee you somebody will get busted for it.

If I knew it, I'd forgotten. I have a lot of people in Oklahoma going back to the land run. They actually went in a few days before they were supposed to but what the .gov didn't know, didn't hurt them. I love Oklahoma. I may move there one of these days. The property taxes are so much better than ours that it's unreal.

We had a RINO governor that promised to sign a CCW law both times he was elected and reneged both times. We finally got CCW and then got Constitutional Carry a few years later. We had a woman Democrat governor who wouldn't sign it too though. Now we've got another woman Dem governor. I doubt she'd sign a pro gun bill.

They like knowing before hand during a traffic stop. Running the plate provides info on the owner. A well trained cop does not assume that the driver is the owner but is aware that the occupants may have stolen the car and killed the owner. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. mike r lv... Do you see a real tightening of CC laws here and open carry outlawed, as a first step to making this whole State into the Kalipornia that Clark and Washoe Counties have turned into from the mass migration here?
