Don’t Let The Old Man In.

There’s a video of this. Can someone here post it ?

It’s worth listening to.
Apologies for not being able to clip and post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc5AWImplfE I don't know how to imbed it, but here it is.

This is the backround story

For some reason this video really hit home. I know there are a lot of you Ole Farts like me on this Forum.

So to all of you older Guys Don't Let The Old Man In laugh No way in hell am I going to wink
It starts with Toby Keith playing golf with Clint Eastwood. That sets the stage. At one point, Eastwood said to Keith, "I turn 88 on Monday."

“What are you going to do?" Keith asked.

"I'm going to shoot a movie," Eastwood replied, filming scheduled to begin the following week.

"What keeps you going?" Keith asked him.

"I get up every day and don't let the old man in," Eastwood said.

"I'm writing this down right now," Keith replied.

"Over the three days of playing golf, he told us what the movie was about. I didn't ask him if I could [contribute] a song, I just went home and wrote it, sent it to him, and hoped that he would consider it. And, you know, he did."

Many thanks Caribou. That’s it.
The song was written and sung after Toby and Clint played a round of golf together and Toby asked him how he endured being now 88 years old. Clint answered, “I don’t let the old man in”. The song will be in Clint’s new movie that he’s filming.

Hate to say it, but all I can think about after that is the day that's coming that I won't like at all.

Maybe I'd best just think about today.

Great vid and I saw the movie a couple weeks ago. Good movie and makes me wonder when Clint will slow down. He really must not 'let the old man in'. Good words to live by there.

Gotta keep on keeping on, RR. There’ll be plenty of time to lay down for a long while.
If we slow down now, we’ll never catch up.

The movie is called "The Mule"....

Its already been released... and I think it's already gone from our local theater...

It certainly was a good movie...good enough to I went to see it twice...

Might not be too long them it will be out on Video/DVD.

My father got old, but he didn't become an old man. I was glad to be able to know him for a few years of my life, he was 43 when I was born and still lived to 94. He didn't let the old man in. He was still sure he could kick anybody's ass when he was in his 90's. He was a hell of a man and my hero. A picture of his younger days and again at 91 years old when he shot his last deer..

I always figured I want to die like sliding into home base yelling it was a hell of a ride ride, not laying in some hospital bed stuck with tubes.
I don't get guys on here saying they are in their 50's an d60's saying they are quitting hunting. I'm 75 and still going strong .

Didn't Toby ban firearms in his restaurants.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

That’s quite a life well lived Shrapnel. May yours be much the same .

I guess those quitters have let the old man in. Many of my buddies pack around a small suitcase of prescription pills with them.
