Sam: Your life style is so totally different from mine it’s almost incredible.

I’m a 73 yr old white suburban guy whose spent all of his life living in MA. I’ve traveled a bit, mostly to hunt and fish, but your locale is unreal. I’m sure your work is really difficult, but the scenery sure beats the 4 bedroom colonial across the street from me.

Thanks for sharing your pics and your info.

Best,

Bob

Bob, my father and I are members of a grazing association and the old house is our cow camp for the annual fall roundup.

If you look closely it is actually a cabin to the left(west) and an attached house on the right. I forget where the attached portion came from, it was a boarding type house I believe. You can see it has two doors.

I've been staying out there for almost 30 years now.

Sadly the old place needs a lot of work and we just don't have the time to go out there and work on it.

Looking back on all the old ranchers and friends that used to stay out there brings a tear to my eye. Lots of good memories in that country.

Old pics from 2008.

The kitchen all cleaned up.

I live in north central North Dakota. My home is in the Turtle Mountains. It’s beautiful here but I head to western ND every year and into Montana and Wyoming because the country there is beautiful to me.the wife and grandkids love it to. Nice pics everybody. Ed k

Sam;
Top of the morning to you sir, I hope that this chilly start to March finds you and your family well and warm this first Sunday.

As you know I really appreciate the prairie photos for a whole lot of reasons. My late father was born in Fox Valley, SK in a sod house and he talked about going on multiple trips for firewood down to the Cypress Hills as that was the nearest timber of any size. That was, by my ciphering Sam, roughly 100 miles each way by horse team....

Makes me wonder how far the cabin builders had to go to get the materials for it, you know?

We're going to be hard at this in a month and a half.

The guy with the white hat says he's not seen a February like this since the '50's - maybe....

We clip them now before using the new fangled electric iron and then put on an aloe vera gel.

This is the home place in the valley, about half way between Oliver, BC and the border town of Osoyoos, BC.

When we moved here 35 years ago there was cows and fruit trees, now the vineyards have come in more and more. This is off a little table mountain behind our house - the vineyard at the top of the photo is out the window to my right as I peck away. Our place is down in a gully behind the big rock on the right in the photo.

Our part of BC is sorta interesting in that we can go from this.

To this - in a few miles. We chase cows in all of it too Sam!

Thanks once again to you and all the rest who've shared photos from around the globe. It's been a grand read/view to be sure.

All the best to you all as we head into better weather.

Dwayne

Bob, hell I live in town as well. And our town is a dirty little existence, no big fancy ranch around here!

But yes, we do get to work in some scenic places and no two days are alike.

JMan, love the sunrise!

Big change from the fricken frozen windswept tundra here this morning!

Dwayne, always great to hear from you, super pics!

The Abel homestead, built in 1910, out on Larb Creek, South Valley County.

Those people from that era were double tough!
