How much difference has anyone seen between a 30 mm tube vs a 1 inch tube in the same brand and the same size objective lens?

There is a noticeable difference in the amount of internal adjustment alone with 30mm tubes.. However that is the only difference I have seen. No difference in light transmission.

Correct.... the only difference is amount of adjustment for windage and elevation.
Does not affect light transmission.

This was the topic of an old discussion in another forum I belong to. It was stated that yes, a bigger hole should let more light through but in the case of a 30 mm v. a 1 inch, the human eye can't tell the difference. The main benefit is more adjustment. But if you're shooting inside 500 yards and you set your scope up right in the first place you probably will never use the extra few clicks. 1" tube paraphenalia is much more popular or available too so a 1" tube is a better choice in my opinion.
