I just got a Vortex Diamondback for my Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. I mounted the Diamondback and the rifle is doing its part. It shoots 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards with no problem. The problem is moving the group to the point indicated by the cross hairs. The direction arrows on the scope turrets seem to work fairly well as they generally point towards the direction the group moves, but the clicks have nothing to do at all with the amount of distance the group travels. The travel per click can be several inches or less with no consistency. 8 clicks down might move the group 6 inches down and 4 clicks back up might move the group 2 inches up. Same thing with the right and left adjustments. Is this normal for this scope? I've have great luck with Vortec scopes in the past, but I've never used one of their lower end scopes and don't know if this is what I should expect. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd keep it in the truck for a couple of weeks, carry it in and out of the house. Then shoot it and see if it retains zero. If it does, i wouldn't worry about it. If it doesn't, I'd send it back.
