Your right, I'm guilty as well, for jerking his chain of late. I'll stop and just ignore him in the future. I left here years ago because every thread dissolved into Larry and his band of merry men, vs every one else. I moved over to Sniper's Hide, where Frank the owner was smart enough to send him packing, never to return. Thanks for pointing this out......
I left this forum for around 10 months because of it as well, life is hard enough with extra drama. Hope it turns around here again soon.
Gerry.

Well Stick, I have to disagree.
20 something bang-flop caribou over a 3 year period in the Arctic conditions out of Pt. Hope, all but one (first one was lethal, he just didn't know it) were one shot kills from 70 to over 500 yards (mostly 300-400 yards) with a RU 77V un-modified factory rifle, with MOA handloads (terrible with factory loads), proved the worth of the .25-06 to me. I should never have sold it. 120 gr Speer handloads. As said, all but one were bang-flops.
A couple years later when I was in gunsmithing school in Denver, I read in Rifle magazine where some pundit was expounding that the .25-06 - based on his one hunt/one caribou - was "marginal' for 300 lb caribou. I LMAO.
Paper punching and statistics is fine, but field results rule with me. Not to imply you are not cognizant with field results, but I know what worked well for me.
Hint....

The 25/06 is a great round , imo. The only negative I can suggest is it's need for a longer barrel. I have take bull elk and moose with it. With good bullets it works well on both. It hits harder than the stats suggest. It will be even better with Reloder 26 and the heaviest controlled expansion bullets

BC's suck and it simply cain't begin to hang. Barrel length means less than NOTHING too. I've only got 'em in 21,22,23,24,25 and 26"

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

JudLady,
Be SURE to "convince" yourself of everything,as you remain CLUELESS about the 25-06 and everything else. HINT.
