So my fishing buddy Doug traded into this interesting knife. Apparently a friend of his got it at a garage sale a number of years ago and Doug who likes odd knives traded him for it. He has no idea what the heck it even is so he asked me if I knew. Well, looking at it I had no idea, other than some sort of heavy duty skinning knife maybe?? On the sheath its stamped "Sullivan" inside a Texas so maybe a Texas knife maker?? The blade itself is also stamped Sullivan. I tried my best to find something on the innernet about this "Sullivan" but no luck. So, any ideas out there?? I know its kind of a weird thing but suppose it could be useful??? Geedubya if you see this any ideas?? I know you have seen a knife or 2 Any ideas or info would be much appreciated. Frank

https://sullivanblades.wordpress.com/Try here. Thier new address is in Florida. Don't know thier old address. It could have been Texas, or they may know who else uses the name sullivan. If not, you could try the Patent office.

It is a bullnose skinner. Actually a very useful pattern. Mine is not a round and wide as that but same idea. It allows you to work the knife very fast without really needing to worry about the tip poking holes in your fur. I don't know anything about the maker, sorry I can't help you there. Here is a picture of mine I had custom made.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kershaw-Al...de-Knife-3-Blade-Combo-Set/273759631822?hash=item3fbd5879ce:g:LwcAAOSwH4lchbS2 I use this fleshing blade for that purpose. You will notice the same kind of belly swell for removing the hide from the meat. But with the rounded tip, it should slide through nicely. Edit: that's funny. It wasn't a vintage knife when I bought it. Now I see only one for sale. And the manufacturer does not even list the style anymore.

Been at the lease and just saw this. Sullivan knives website has already been suggested. Might just be. quote=MontanaCreekHunter]It is a bullnose skinner. Actually a very useful pattern.
