For a small camping trailer - single axle - max 3000 lb. trailer weight - can anybody recommend a brand of replacement tire?

I know there's trailer hauling people here and most of my google search just keeps bringing up the same ads.

Maxxis. I've got them on my boat. 19ft bay boat with a 150. They are great.

Goodyear endurance are very good. Goodyear marathon are junk. The endurance are USA made and speed and load rated higher than equivalently sized alternates. The marathon is a China tire and has a bad rep. Maxxis is about the best of the rest.

Your trailer with a max capacity of 3000lbs should have a "C" rated tires that makes a total weight rating of 3640lbs for just the tires.

As practice I always jump up to the next load rating particularly in a camper so the tires are not always at max capacity load. from my experience tires have a longer life if they're not at max capacity all the time.

Good Year Endurance, Maxxis, Hankook, and another or two I can’t recall right now. The new Good Year Endurance is getting good reviews. I hope that they’re good, just put four on our boat trailer last summer....haven’t really tested them yet! memtb

goodyears are having a bad run, my buddy owns a tire distributor ship (like the 8th largest goodyear in in the nation) he wont even sell me a goodyear trailer tire. He told me about a offshore trailer tire that all his hotshot drivers are running, some of them over 100,000miles on them. Theyre Gladiators Qr25TS. 87mph rating. and they're very very affordable

So then, do you put trailer tires on your truck? Trailer tires are designed for trailers, truck tires are designed for trucks.
They're different.

Are these the China made Marathons or the newer American made Endurance? memtb

What ever brand you get,, buy load range E minimum. Lots of people running truck tires on trailers around here, for what it's worth.

I wish someone could explain the difference to me, I know that trailer tires typically cost far more and last less than half as long as L/Ts in the same trailer application.

The best trailer tire available is a used Toyo m-55 off of the pickup. I have one 235-75-15 on a trailer which came on a used '84 K5 Blazer in '95. So it is still in use after at least 35 years.

Used class E snow tread for heavy trailers, class C 235-75-15 for the camper and medium trailers, and 225-60-15s off of the car on the two horse trailer to keep the deck close to the ground.

A guy can give the carcass back to the tire store for free, and then they sell it as a used tire. Or you can put it on a trailer, and do your part for recycle and save a butt load of cash. Because if you live in a snow zone you are trading tires before winter whether they are down to minimum legal tread depth or not.

You would have to be an idiot to our trailer tires on a pickup. They aren’t safe. Obviously, and not rated to carry passengers.

LT tires are rated to carry passengers. And for trailer use. And for use above 65 mph. And for the same weight rating have a real world highe capacity. And they wont fail as often.

They are very different. Different in that trailer tires are POS.

Might just be the smartest thing you ever did.

Guess what the semi trucks run on their trailers? Usually recapped truck tires.
