use to want one of those to drop a big block mopar in.
Used to be an old mechanic that I took stuff I couldn't or didn't want to work on to. He had two or three implement sheds full of classic cars. He was a Mopar guy. He had one exactly like the one in the pic, only in original shape. It had faded paint, an interior to match and some rust. Hadn't been wrecked. It wasn't inside, but was one of two or three cars that sat outside his house and by his shop. I always wanted that car. It had the original engine in it.
I think I told you before that Dad worked for Sinclair. He worked with a guy up in Missouri whose nickname was "Hotrod". He inherited some money and immediately bought a Hawk. Promptly, he wrecked it going about 120 IIRC, a respectable speed for the 50's on some Missouri road, if you knew how they used to be. Hence, his nickname.
Internet pic, wished it were mine. Had a '55 hardtop for a bit. Born in '56 but like it the least of the 3 yrs. Sure enjoy pics of these rigs, bring back memories of the 'good ole days' and drive in theatre's and A&W etc eatin places. Owned the '55, 62 Chevy II, '64 Malibu SS factor 4sp, '69 Sport Satellite 2dr with bored & balanced 383, '71 Cyclone GT w/429SCJ, competition blue with white vinyl top, '72 Cheyenne 4X4 short box and a '75 1500 with bored 454. Sadly don't have any of them anymore.
1950 CJ4. Yes, I said CJ4. This is it. The only one ever built. It was an upgrade of the CJ3A. It was the victim of the Korean war buildup when they were cranking out M38A1's which was actually the military version of the CJ5. After the war, they went to the CJ5. The CJ4 was then licensed to Mahindra in India and built as the Mahindra Jeep which wasn't sold in the US.
