Thinking about selling this 1873 sn 2169xxB I believe manufactured in 1886. Very nice old rifle has the incorect rear sight elevator bore is mostly bright and shiny but does have some pitting / very shootable. Hoping for a little help on what the rifle should sell for?

Well, my thoughts are that's a nice looking '73, but I couldn't tell you what it should sell for. There's only a couple members here that have much experience trading in '73s. I'd research Guns International and auction sites for the asking and sold prices on similar condition rifles.

What he said. I didn't ignore you. But I don't post advice when I don't know what I'm talking about . . . or at least that's my goal.

Round barrel 38-40 in pretty decent shape…..Many of the gun show dealers would ask much more but I think $1500 to $1800 would be about the right ballpark.

Thanks , the book says it is pretty valueable 5K, and the auction sites are all over the place no consistancies what so ever.
