I am picking up a Savage 219 in 30-30 with a full length mannlicher stock. My question is was this a factory option or a owners custon upgrade. Are these hard to come by? Thanks for any input......

Nope, not factory. Not hard to come by, but one doesn't see many custom jobs done on 219's.
My first reaction was to be dubious as to how such a thing would look, but I'll reserve my opinion until I see it- and may well keep it to myself! Let us pray that whoever built it had a good eye for proportions. Should be interesting nonetheless!
I still think 219's are the unsung heroes of Savage's hardware store line of guns. I would much rather have one than an H&R or some other American break action single shot, including TC's.

Had one at one point. Had a cheek piece too. Neat looking but not balanced well to suit me.

I seem to remember an aftermarket outfit offering full length forends and stocks with cheekpieces but I thought they were made for the .22/.410 O/U guns.

I have been searching down here for a long time for a 219 in 25-20, seen the odd 32-20 but always rough condition. I remember a post by Romac who found a 25-20 in great condition made me very envious

Wizard, the original Model 24 (side selector, O/U .22 over .410) uses the same stock as the original 219/220, so they probably were made originally for the 24s. My 219B has one of those to replace a Bubbaed original stock. Mine is from Boyds, though.
Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa. FNG. Again. Mike Armstrong
