Springfield Standard with NOS Winchester barrel, TRW bolt, I believe the only part that isn't USGI is the trigger housing. Also has an ARMS scope mount that is early and probably milspec too. It's in a commercial stock but I have the USGI stock in the garage. I haven't seen one of these with this many USGI in four years so I'm having trouble pricing it. Thanks.

If the receiver is USGI you'd better have a stamp for it...

Serial range is 0658XXX. I remember that as a desirable range. Thanks.

I spent some time on their and wasn't able to find much on prices for M1A's made with USGI parts. Thanks I'll keep looking.

I'm still curious if the receiver is USGI.
If so, and registered, should be worth $10,000 or better.

No as far as I've found the serial number is more recent and investment cast. But is a desirable range. The reason I'm having trouble finding a price is because there aren't that many M1A's with a lot of USGI parts on the market. Just like my mummy wrap No4 Mk2 Enfield. I haven't seen one of those for sale in a long time either.

If the receiver is USGI you'd better have a stamp for it. From the title of this thread "Price Check on Mostly USGI M1A", I'm pretty certain it's a commercial receiver made by Springfield Armory Inc. M1A is a trademarked name belonging to Springfield Armory Inc. To the OP, I haven't tested the market on a rifle like yours, but I can tell you that the earlier M1A's were nearly all USGI and as the surplus supply dwindled, more and more repro parts were used. If I were shopping for an M1A today, I'd look for a rifle such as yours with as many USGI parts as possible...particularly the bolt, op rod and trigger group.

Check the equipment exchange on AR15.com, there is an M1A/M14 sales section, you can get an idea of value there

Thanks Chris, yes the receiver is commercial as far as I can tell. The bolt, op rod, and trigger parts are USGI. It's in a commercial stock but I have a USGI stock. I just left it in the commercial stock because it shot so good, and to protect the USGI stock. And the scope mount is tight, no shift in zero. I just confirmed zero and maybe shot it twice in the last twenty years. It's an awesome shooter. Thanks, John

The examples you seek are on thecmp.org forums. FWIW a 6xx,xxx isn’t that early of a receiver. ETA- Are you sure the rifle is in the 6xx,xxx range and not the 6x,xxx range? There were bad apples produced throughout M1A production but the quote “desirable” receivers are the 5 line guns that are marked 7.62 on the heel. They typically have all USGI parts and are mid 90’s rifles or earlier. https://m14forum.com/m14/175255-springfield-m1a-good-years.html#/topics/175255?page=1

Thanks, I wasn't offering much help, just pointing out the potentially confusing wording of your ad. Caught me in a curmudgeonly mood.. Thanks for your civility and good luck in your quest. Regards, Bob. No problem Buddy. We all have our off days. And some times I'm not the most articulate person. I've been under the gun for years now so I get in a rush posting things at times. Besides these hands were made for shooting not typing lol. Have a good day!
