FC, I somehow missed your review of the Argos. It was excellent I thought.
I have acquired an Argos BTR that I want to play around with on my CTR 6.5CM.There was ZERO wind to deal with, temp was 61*. All I did this morning was mount it, zero it with Hornady Black factory ammo, then zero a known ridiculously accurate 147 ELDM load. Zeroing both was very easy, and the Hornady Black easily went into a tidy .5 at 100. The 147 is a little better than that. I didn't have much time, but the alley I was on has 300 yd and 500 yd 8" and 6" gongs. I painted them with a fresh dose of orange paint and commenced firing. 10 rds of the 147's is all I had, so I dialed .5 mils and hit bull at 200. Dialed 1.2 mils and hit 6" orange gong absolutely dead center. Dialed 2.9 mils and hit 8" orange gong dead center. Repeated the process. Wound up shooting three each at the 300 and 500, and 2 each at 100 and 200. I finished with last round in the small cluster of shots at 100yds. I will be interested as well in the durability, but during this short session, the Ares did things perfectly. Glass is on par with 4.5-18x LRHSi (very, very good), and eyebox is more friendly with the Ares at 27x than the LRHS is at 18. Not much, just slightly.
I'll do a more extensive tracking test next time, when I'm not pressed for time myself.

Heard nothing but good things about the Cronus. Basically a Gen 2 Razor for much less money, and 10 oz lighter.

A couple years ago I took an older shot out 243 and put an X caliber 8 twist 243 back on it in 24" and put an Athlon Argos on it. I built this whole rig for long range on a tight budget. Long story short the gun puts 108 gr hornady ELD Ms into one hole and the scope has been perfect so far out to 1000. I've got about $1000 in this rig total and can hold my own in local shoots with guys that spent twice that on glass alone. Ya, I'm sold.
Everyone is pretty on the internet!
