This book is the latest by Jance in her Ali Reynolds series. It has been out a few days now and is an educational book with respect to some possible AI - Artificial Intelligence- capabilities.

In this book a doctor who ran a reproductive clinic and was too cheap to pay sperm donors decided he'd just provide a less costly alternative. Not only that but he also used his wife's eggs for a number of patients.
Well, this wasn't much of a problem until a young man who came from one of these pregnancies needed a kidney. Of course the supposed sperm donors from his 'catalog' of donors were phony biographies so when a request for contact information came in the scheme started to unravel. And, oops!, all of those medical records were destroyed. The doctor winds up being held responsible for his ex-wife's murder and goes to prison and starts a scheme to revenge his fall and multiple murders follow. The AI is very useful in putting it all together.

This is another well researched Jance book and is entertaining.
