I had my smith put a muzzle brake on my Ruger mini-30. I have recently bought a Ruger American ranch bolt action in .223 with a threaded barrel. I noticed that my muzzle brake for my mini-30 screws on the American bolt .223.
Would I be able to safely shoot the rifle with that brake on it, and would I receive any benefit from it?
Not able to get a hold of my smith to ask the question.

Should, if the threads are straight and true, If it's off you'll shave bullets on firing,
HOWEVER, without examining the rifle , etc, is it worth your eyes, hand, or rifle?

Yeah, taming 223 recoil is important. Making them ridiculously loud at the range and elsewhere is just a side benefit.

j2dogs,

Insert a cleaning in from the bore with some left out. If it clears the brake all the way around, you are good to go.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
