, I am pushing these at 2750 from my 3006. Accuracy is excellent under one inch at 200 yards. Has anybody use these on elk and if so how did they perform. Thank you for your input

They work just fine! Used these for years before the bonded bullets became popular on deer and elk and they never knew the difference. I think they are tougher now than in the past, great bullet. You're over thinking, just go shoot stuff!

Not used them on elk but have seen them shoot through a moose. I’d have no hesitations what so ever. At the velocity your getting you will very likely get excellent results from most cc heavyish for cal bullets. One of the things that make 30/06/308 rifles so predictable and so good

Sounds like a adequate combo, retro. I am sure you’ll snap a twig shortly.

Biggest whitetail I ever killed. Was with one out of a 300 Wby. Bullet went from the shoulder diagonally through him and stopped on the skin on the opposite ham. The bullet mushroomed like a commercial.

I know its not the same thing, but about 20 years ago I knew a fellow who used the 165 SBT/30-06 on elk. It came apart, took awhile to worry a big spike bull to death. I had "quietly" tried to persuade him to use the 180 ( my preference was the Pro Hunter spire point Sierra then) but the Gameking would have been swell too. He liked how the 165 shot though and he did get his bull. I think Sierras have been toughened up or something for awhile now. I used the 150 Pro Hunter in a 300 WinMag and they acted like Partitions on little Hill Country deer! ha. 2750 should be the sweet spot for those 180 GK! Have a ball pard!
