It's all down to condition, and the accessories. How many magazines for the 52? They are about $150ea now days. Original 41 mags also are expensive but they do make new ones. Boxes, paperwork, and tools really add value to either. 41's from about 1975 and earlier bring the most money. The 52-2 will bring a bit more than the no dash or dash-1 models. I have both, they are in the $1K range apiece, more with boxes and extra mags.

Spot on from my experience. I would add that the “A” prefix 52-2 are the most desirable because of the improved extractor. No dash 52’s are the least common. Production not nearly as high as -1 or -2. The extractor on the no dash and -1’s are difficult to find and expensive. S&W no longer works on or produces parts for the 52’s. Extractor for the -2 very similar to the 39 and easier to find/fit.
