I dearly love the CZ455FS, and finally bought one. It is only available in a right hand model. Great rifle! Yesterday morning, talking to the woman, I mentioned that I've never had a left handed bolt rifle, love the CZ, and would consider a left handed American. We go out for a ride, and end up at The Keystone Armory (the local go to toy store ), and there sits a left hand CZ American. We left, and lo and behold, she turns to me and says I'm gonna regret it if I don't go back and buy that rifle. WHAT A WOMAN! My 64th birthday is the 27th. Guess this is my present. Can't wait to get it set up and sighted in.

FYI - I think the American is the best version of the CZ line even though I don't own one. My search led me to a 455 Lux which is now a short barreled rifle with a modified hogback stock. It shoots as well as anyone could hope for (even me and I'm an accuracy-for accuracy's-sake junkie) feeds/functions perfectly, etc. Pain in the ass to scope but you won't have that problem with the American. Mine likes standard/target/subsonic stuff best but seems to shoot 90% of what I've tried in it well or better. Didn't like Remington subsonics or federal match HV too much. I'm still gunning for a 452 American somewhere down the road, and I like the way the new 457 Lux handles (its back to being a longer barreled rifle. Still a hogback but it feels different than mine.) Best of luck with the new gun! Work is what you do to finance your real life.....

My FS will do about 3/8" 5 shot at 50, with CCI standard velocity. Hope this one is as good. Have a Leupold 3-9 on the way for it. The FS has a Nikon 2-7. That woman is really something.

Generally speaking, my "best" at endeavors I decide to take to the nth degree, results in world recognition. This, is just fun. I'm the best in the world at more than one discipline. If this is your thing, have at it. Rubbing elbows with the elite in world competition, I have found them to be, for the most part, gracious and helpful. The wannabees are pissants. They find fault in everyone who isn't "them". Pretty evident which camp you pitch your tent in.

Pretty [bleep] tough as long as you're far away. CZ'S are generally regarded as a good value for the money. They tend to shoot well, and are finished nicely. That's a fact, Jack. You may disagree, but it doesn't make you right . I shoot for fun, not competition. It works for me. Some of the rifles you show, must carry like a 2x4, in the field. If you like that, have at it. Doesn't hurt to have good stuff, but a lot of people do very well with "lesser" firearms, due to practice and ability. Most are capable of entirely acceptable hunting accuracy. Really, ease of carry, for what you show, seems to be something you don't require. They are not elegant, to my eye. Guns are more art than tool, in my mind. I appreciate their beauty, as well as utility. Nice when they come together. I doubt you have the subtlety to appreciate such comments, preferring instead, to demonstrate cyber-tourrettes syndrome.

The scope on the American is a Leupold 3-9, 2-7 Nikon on the FS.If we ever get a calm day again, I'll shoot them head to head. I tend to have a flyer out of a 5 shot group. Generally, all except that flyer, are touching at 50. Last group with the 452 American, was almost unbelievably small. 3 in one elongated hole, 1 still touching, and a flyer, about 1/8" out.it seems to be very slightly better than the 455, but it could be the glass, too. I would not say the 455 is inaccurate, by any stretch! This is a typical 5 shot group at 50, with the 455.

I showed you mine, you show me yours. No peep sights, just factory open sights. It's virtually one hole. There isn't much more to improve. The other target is at 50. This rifle will do 1 - 1.5" at 100, for 5 shots. That is considered good accuracy for a sporter. Well, for everybody except those who breathe rare air, as you certainly must. All you've proven is that you can spend money. Where are your targets?

It shoots quite a bit better than the one I had in 1976. My 96/22mag, isn't a slouch, either. I'd be pretty happy with those groups!

Only out to 50 yards. The Leupold 3-9 scope is,a bit better than the 2-7 Nikon on the 455fs. The 2 are very close. Slight edge to the 452 American, could just be the scope. Around 5/8" 5 shot, but I nearly always have a flyer out of 5 shots. Just me, I guess. The last group was almost embarrassing. Didn't measure it, but 3 shots in 1 slightly enlarged hole, 1 about half the bullet diameter out, and the last about 1/8" out. That one caught a little puff of wind. Damn good shooter. CCI Standard velocity.
