[/URL] I had one of those Old Timer Sharpfingers....but it is somewhere along a trail in the middle of the Frank Church Wilderness and has been for several years. For a mass produced, cheap knife, it held an edge pretty damn good. I could skin and break down an entire elk without touching it up. my brother has one just like that. called an old finger, or sharp finger. he still gets good service out of it.

the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.

I lost this one...... on the Pacheco Ranch, Northeast NM, while on a bear hunt with Drummond Lindsey and Rick Menefee. ya! GWB That old timer suprised me, in how good it was. Maybe I just got lucky with a good lot of steel when I got mine, but it held an edge better than several of my more expensive knives have. I quit buying good, custom knives because I loose them like a virginity on prom night, and I SUCK ASS at sharpening. I am all about the havalon piranta now😀.

My Sharpfinger is 4-ish decades old. Holds an edge like a sumbatch. Best knife money I ever spent.

Oh and nice sunrise. Gobbles and sunrises are better than coffee no matter WHAT part of WHAT country I'm standing in...…………. But a good Dominican Molido or a Tim Horton's goes good with my morning gobbles, too !!!

10/4. I have both the Piranta and the Barracuta I use them quite often, among others. Especially when working on a nasty old boar that has been rolling in the mud. However, IMHO, they are too sharp for caping. ya! GWB

They're too sharp for skinning rattlers.
Fugged up the tail end of a nice Tejas d-back hide with one I bummed off a buddy who reps for Havalon. It was one of those little orange deals like you have there. DANG but that thing would shave !!!!!!

Nothing's too sharp for caping.😀 I've got to the point where I only carry a fixed blade as a backup....I take care of everything from quartering to skinning with a piranta. Quail to moose, it works for me. Maybe not classy, but they're functional.
