I have a Marlin 1895 SBL 45/70 that I purchased new a few years ago. It was made after Remington took over Marlin. It has the barrel "droop" problem that I have read about. I run out of elevation adjustment with the scope. I sent it back to Marlin and they supposedly fixed it. They said the sights weren't indexed properly. That would have nothing to do with my scope adjustment. You can see with your naked eye the scope rail drop down after it clears the receiver to the barrel. I don't think they did anything to it. Do they think I'm stupid? Has anyone else had this issue? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Trade it in at a LGS for something that works and lick your wounds. Life is too short to let Remlin ruin it.

Marlin had issues in that department long before Remington took over. I have an ‘80 336 that the barrel points well left of where the receiver does. Works fine with iron sights but unless using a Leupold windage adjustable base a scope runs out of windage adjustment before it will zero.
More common issue than most realize.

Can't help, but it's surely some sort of constructive advice.

I had a Marlin 3030 my dad bought for me around 77. The back sight was off center on one side of the barrel and the front sight was on the other side. They couldn't be drifted enough to hit anything at 40 yards. I paid a smith to mount them both on the top when I was old enough to earn my own money. Never bought anything Marlin since. And mine was supposed to be when they were good. Another thing the lever had a tendency to drop and open the bolt. And the finish flaked off the wood. Junkiest gun imagineable.

Only because you stepped in the dog schitt.

It's mostly insults and trolling. I don't speak crackhead.

Try a pic rail. Not sure what the "horns" is. Hornady maybe.

Even my little Mounty, circa 1980 or so, had a crooked front sight. Not everything was roses and honey in the good old days. I want to like them, but a feller's got to look close before buying any of them (and not just Marlins).

I had to send a Marlin back, it took 3 months and quite a few phone calls, in now shoots and functions as it should.
