Got the chance for a rare public hunt in Texas for alligators. My two sons, 9 and 12, and my father in his sixties. We had lots of fun, and its a pretty thrilling big game adventure that's easy enough for kids to do well. Trinity River from I-10 south to the bay. Probly at least 50 gators per shore mile. Have seen several 14’-ers, as long as my boat. Pulled right up on ‘em, they aint scared.

The population is growing so much, I wish TPWD would give out more permits and allow more public hunting.

nothing like a hunt for gators that don't let you walk up on them and shoot them when they are sleeping on the bank. good deal keep your kids involved
