Do any of you folks employ Loc Tite in the course of changing out you AR15 barrels? Thanks...

I haven't used Loctite on ANYTHING in 30 years.

Exactly where are you using it ?

I would think it’s better to have different uppers than screw with swapping barrels.

I use blue loctite to take up the slop on the barrel extension to upper fit interface. although green loctite is probably better. just make sure you don't get it on the threads.

I use Loctite 620 for any barrel extension that is not hard to seat. If I can install and seat the extension in the upper without a rubber malet, I use the Loctite, snug the barrel nut down clean up any excess inside of the receiver. Remove the nut, apply anti-seize to the face of the barrel extension and threads and torque the nut to 65 ft lbs, unless it requires the nut to be indexed, then I get as close as I can without exceeding 65 ft lbs.

Yes, for a precision rifle if the barrel extension is not a press fit in the receiver I usually bed it with green Loctite 680. Usually I use the same Loctite to help secure the free float handguard to the barrel nut.

If it is more of a short range rifle/pistol I don't bed the barrel extension to the receiver.
