My brother in law and I are tasked with moving my fathers wood working tools. We have an assortment of older Powermatic, Delta, Rockwell and a few Northwoods stationary pieces. 13-14 large items. I’m having trouble finding the items on sale sites to find comparable pricing. There are plenty of new units to compare. I’m hoping that you guys can suggest sites. I’m coming up short searching the web.

some will be premium and others you won't be able to give away. rule of thumb is if current bits, blades and cutters will fit them they are desirable. if parts are hard to find forget it. list them on ebay with pickup only starting at .01 and let the market price them for you.

We ended up donating some of my dad's woodworking tools that did not sell to the local high school for their shop class.. They took everything except the Craftsman table saw with an 8" blade. The saw was so old that if you wanted to rip on an angle the table tilted and the blade stayed straight. It went for scrap.

You can get a receipt to write off on your taxes and get full value if you have enough deductions to file long form.

Well. Good advice but not very encouraging. It’s a bit difficult to think that the good tools that allowed him to make a living and provide for me has little value. Reality is reality though. I’ve been away from wood working for a long time. It seems that some research on modernization of specific tools is in order. Thanks for a jumping off point. Any further suggestions appreciated.

No not very encouraging at all. I was in the same situation a few years ago. I had a number of power tools that were passed down to me that I had no use for. In the end it was a relief to be rid of that burden for pennies on the dollar.
I'm going through the same thing again now with household stuff from the greatest generation , really nice stuff that no one wants.
It was and is a shock to me how little value people place on these things nowadays.

There is still value in much of it... you just have to find the craftsman that value them... (i.e. Tradesmen and Craftsmen don't live on Twitter or Facebook 24/7/365...)
Maybe post flyers at Tractor Supply, local Gun Club and similar.
Personally I would offer you fair value for the whole bundle if my next shop was finished, but alas it isn't and won't be for 2-4 years.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Can you find comparable tools on ebay? That might get you in the ballpark.
