I have a Weatherby Vanguard S2 30-06 (glorified Howa 1500) and a Leupold VX5 3-14 (44mm bell)... the 30mm tube is quite short & allows for little room for adjustment. Going off everyone's recommendations from a previous post i went with Talley's LW mounts, but given where the mounting holes are on top of the receiver there is minimal (if any room) for sliding the scope back to maximize the available eye relief. Is a Pic rail the my next best bet? Is there a 2 piece pic/weaver rail that'll give me some versatility in scope placement without blocking ejection port... Any suggestions?

Thanks gentlemen! (any possibly any ladies)
