Does anybody have experience with LED bulbs in ceiling fans? I swear that the little ones that came with the fan actually make the room DARKER.

Have 3, 40w soft white equivalent in mine, they work fine and produce a lot more light.

They are infinitely better. The problem can be in finding the correct socket style and bulb size/shape. But if you find them, buy them. (Take an old bulb with you.)
Edit to add: In our master bedroom, we put mini CFL bulbs in for one reason: when you turn them on, they're dim and brighten gradually - perfect if you have to turn the lights on in the wee hours with sleepy eyes.

Yep. I changed the entire house over to them. I love them. You do know you can get brighter ones right?

Ours use 3 60W LEDs. The problem is that they have candelabra bases. I'd like more light but can't find bulbs with those bases that look right.

Last time I checked, candelabra base LEDs were all 60w or less. I need some brighter ones.

The power company keeps sending us free ones, and we keep installing them.

I didn't like the CFL's much, but so far I am a big fan of the LED's. The 100W equivalent ones are nice.

I have a lifetime supply of real light bulbs. π Sucks for you, but most anyone will gladly let you keep those highly inefficient, yellow light producing products of an age gone by. LEDs are superior in all ways. Still rocking a tube TV too?

I bought some 4 ft.led lights and put them over my lathe.
Man what a difference it makes.
I also put some in my bathroom and use them in fans, they work great.
Thing is one needs to look at the output before buying.
Went thru that a few times.
