(Uh, do you have trouble getting boxes of Nosler bullets open?)

You thought wrong. Redhawks come either with or without rings. Super Redhawks, other than the Alaskan model, all have ring mounts. The Redhawks with rings are mounted on the barrel, Super Redhawks have the scope mounts back over the action and forward extension of the frame. Redhawks have a single spring design where both hammer and trigger operate from the same spring .. pretty unique to Ruger. The Super Redhawk is, internally, basically an oversized GP100 with conventional 2-spring design.

Etc.

I prefer the Redhawk.

You don't need 1600 fps with a hard cast and sufficient meplat. 1200 would do just fine and be much more manageable for a follow-up shot.

Think i will take my 6.5 inch model 29 along , Just cause i shoot it reasonably well but nrvervtried lighter weight bullets in it.. Should be 1600 plus fpbs from the Ruger. The Max load on hogden web site is well over 1700...tj3006

No. A Super Redhawk has that barrel extension that looks like a bad plumbing job. Redhawks with 7.5" barrels, were provided with barrels that had been milled for rings and barrels that were not milled. Buyers choice. No rings with a 5.5".

I understand, and never stated it as a fact.
