In an effort to augment my Rising Block action with another offering to appeal to bench rest shooters as well as hunters with something more familiar, but still unique in the current marketplace. I set out to design an action that offers a great trigger, plenty of strength and a familiar design since my Rising Block is so different. So I present my sidelever falling block. It features a coil spring driven striker housed in the breech block, and Martini style extractor with primary extraction for those sticky cases, and perhaps my favorite feature of all, a removable trigger group that has adjustments for sear engagement and pull weight. Tang safety that blocks both the trigger and sear, draw-bolt stock attachment and an option for a forend hanger to free float the barrel. The size pictured will handle rimmed cartridges from .22 hornet to 9.3X74R. It's very smooth to operate and the trigger is crisp as can be. Zero creep due to the pivot location of the trigger itself and short travel. Hope you enjoy. I'm very pleased and have high hopes for the action. Very nice! I can imagine some other worldly customs using that as a basis.

Thanks for sharing. I like the concept a lot. Me, personally, might like a slighly less bulky top of the side lever. But what do I know - you could make this, I admit I can't. My thoughts on the scale of the side lever is more like this Daniel Fraser one ( https://www.morphyauctions.com/jamesdjulia/item/1398-396/ ). I know this is without stock so I have to picture how it would be in use. Please don't take this as a negative. There is something unique and wonderful about a nice side lever rifle. I think one would make a perfect Kipplauf! Again, thanks for creating this and for sharing.

Thank you for sharing, Bailey. I followed your progress elsewhere as you brought it to life. When might a person expect to see one for sale?

Thanks Bailey. I have visited with you at DSC on several occasions while I was window shopping. You were always a gentleman and happy to answer questions. All the best with this new action. I presume you will have one to show this year at DSC?

Gnoahh, I'm ready to accept orders for the actions now, and will be starting the first batch of 5 on Monday.
Sig, I probably won't have a booth at DSC next year. Their wait list is quite long and I haven't had a booth there for a few years now. I will be doing some shows but haven't committed to any yet.

I've never been to SCI, so it had to be DSC. The last year I had a booth there was 5 yrs ago.

Would it be possible to locate the lever on the left side? Beautiful action BTW.

A left side lever would make a lot of sense for carrying right handed. If the lever was positioned just right it would be easy to open by reaching your thumb over the action and hitting it.

Agreed, as a left hand shooter I would want the lever on the right side of the action for optimal function. And to the builder of this, outstanding work.
