Anybody else got something they know is around but can't find?
For me, its a knife. My mom went to a class reunion a few years back, one of her classmates had retired from the service and to fill his time, he was making knives. Nice ones. She ordered one up for me and for my brother. About a 3.5" fixed drop blade, wooden handle. I cannot find that !^%(&*# knife anywhere. I know its around someplace, but damn, it's aggravating.

Drives me up the wall to know I have a tool or piece of kit and can’t lay my hands upon it. Argffhh
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Check down in that black hole between the seatbelt receiver and the console of your truck.

For some fn reason hex keys are never to be found when we need them. Tear through all the toolboxes and nothing. There I go off to buy another set. I know I've got about 3 or 4 sets now somewhere. Keeping the newest set on my dashboard in the truck.

Yeah my Glock 21.
My daughter brought all my guns except that one. It’s at her house in Michigan, or it has to be I hope.

Anybody else got something they know is around but can't find? Every day... You'll find it as soon as you don't need it... For me, last week, was one of the 3 magazines for my Kahr P-9.. Had two, wanted the third for the PTC class last Friday.. .. Couldn't find the damn thing anywhere.. It should only be in one of four places, max.. Searched all four places 3-4 times.. NO luck.. Finally tried the bike one last time; the only pocket I did not check in the trunk's organizer only had a bungee cord and a netting.....I thought.. Happened to catch a glint of metal in the bottom - and THERE it was, still in the belt sheath.. Grrrrrrrrrr. Why I put it in there in the first place, I have NO idea..

I finally bought a new watch a few months ago. It is on my wrist as I write this. Am I "rubbing it in"? hell no. If I ever find the old one that is just like this new one, I'll have two!

If I can't find anything, it's because my wife moved it. The trick is whether she remembers where she moved it to. That's a crapshoot... She'll say she remembers doing it but forgot where she put it... I just doesn't compute with her when I repeatedly tell her to not touch my stuff... Then she'll ask me if I know what she did with this or that... she can't find it. I always respond "Irritating isn't it?"

I can be looking for something and it be right in front of me and I cant see it. Sometimes I misplace something on my workbench and cant find it, my wife will come by, grab it up off the bench and say "is this it, Honey?".
Infuriating.

As mom used to tell me when I was young.......... "It's probably in the last place you left it!"...... And now that I'm a senior citizen I can rarely recall where that place is.

I once misplaced my wallet for 3-1/2 days, 84 hours. That was a bitch, let me tell you. Then found the damn thing right the hell where I left it, and was able to piece together how and why I absentmindedly left it right the hell there.

Stuck a 1" NAA in a safe place real quick once. Didn't think about it for days.
I was about freaked out, about the take the place apart piece by piece before I remembered where I had put it. Prolly won't do that again.

Uncle couldn't find XD40 a few years back. He knew he didnt lose it or sell it and he was almost certain no one stole it. I spent a whole day helping him turn his house, shop, garage, attic and basement upside down looking for it. Nothing. Told him he should report it stolen or lost. He'd have none of that he knew he didnt lose it or had it stolen.
He found it six months later....IN HIS DISHWASHER he never used. Only reason he looked in there was he had a Super Bowl Party and wanted to use it for the first time in over a year.
I still give him chit.
