I have used Harris Bi-Pods since the early 90's and they are extremely durable and functional........but somewhat heavy (longer versions) when attached to a rifle you are carrying in the mountains. My question is - does anyone manufacture a composite type bi-pod, possibly with flat shaped but retractable legs, in the 12"-25" range?

Spartan Precision Javelin Bipod. Crazy light, easy and fast on-off the rifle. I tortured a set at the FTW SAAM training course and all over South Africa.

Those are pretty cool and close to what I had pictured in my head. Thanks for the replies
