No, my '21 model 99G definitely has a blued lever. Unless this thing has been re-blued. I can't tell but if it was, it's a nice job, doesn't look re-ground or anything like that. The bluing is only gone on the sharp edges and of course where the lever rubs inside and around the muzzle. Actually I used a little cold bluing on those spots (not the lever) and it matched just fine.

The levers were case colored from the factory. It should be mottled, turning gray. If it's a solid smooth blue, it's been reblued.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

That lightfoot mount is a real bonus on the old 99 for aged eyes. I have a Nikon 4-9x40 on mine and its' pretty nice glass, I got a couple Bushnell 4-9x40's and they espouse 6" eye clearance but it's not even 4", less than the Nikon and the glass is not clear at the edges, but then they're half or less the price of the Nikon. I'll stick with the Nikon plus it's got the BDC circles the Bushnells don't. You'll need the redfield high mounts for the 40mm like lightfoot says in his instructions.

Hate to hi-jack my thread back, but had my new 99G at the range this morning. Could not be happier. Mounted my Lyman 29 1/2 on her and proceeded to shoot groups that I found hard to believe I shot em. I more happier than a pig in mud. Bonus is it also likes my traditional load that all my other 99s in 300 Savages favor. Not going to bother even trying working up different loads. As Ann Landers says, don't argue with success. Don't F#%**k with Anns advise. Any way, y'all enjoy the holiday weekend. Getting readt to fire up the grill and do some damage. Strictly charcole in my domain. None of the Hank Hill propane stuff for me.
