They were the RL (Rifle, Light), and RLS (Rifle, Light, Sights) models. There were a few more with laminated stocks. Hard to find in any caliber, and nearly impossible in 7mm-08. Most I've seen are 243, 308 and 30-06.
In am making a 260 rem from my 243 tang safety can't wait to get it built .i have 20 tang safety rifles .I had a full stock 22-250 tang safety but sold it .They are the pre64 win model 70 of our age .
Don't know if you are interested , but I have a nice tang safety RL in 270 win. that I would sell. Shoots well.

I paid $340 for one about year 2000 with ammo and a decent scope. I think’ it’s the last rifle I’d sell. I think the RL/RLS are the best version of the Ruger 77 .
