Had anybody had any work done by Mark Penrod lately? Was wondering about turnaround time and accuracy

He did some specialty machining and bluing for me recently (made a Stith-type dovetail mount for a non-standard dovetail and blued the piece) that took around two months, door-to-door. I looked back at my various receipts and some jobs he's been consistent on his turnarounds, no matter what. Basic trigger work has been around a month or less, bedding work (pillar and pressure) has been right around two months, door-to-door. Re-barrel jobs have varied from as little as two months to nearly a year which was attributed to the barrel suppliers. (A lot of items were back ordered following the 2008 and 2012 elections.) He's done Ruger No.1 work for me, re-barreled several Ruger 77s, re-barreled a Winchester 70, built a full custom from an MRC 1999 (that one took about a year from when I sent it to him in 2006), bedded some Remington 700s, etc. Accuracy has never been an issue, both in the truest sense of the word and in executing the projects.

His work is world class and well worth the wait. You gotta remember, custom rifles are so much more than just a list of options.

I had him do a trigger job, replace an extractor and improve the feeding on a M70 action. He did a great job, was great to deal with and had a pretty quick turn around.

My experience has shown him to be a man of his word. Craftsmanship is solid as well as accuracy and turn around time. Would work with him again.

Not sure what his current turnaround time might be, but Mr. Penrod has worked on some of my stuff and the work he did was 1st class all the way and the turnaround time was very reasonable. I would highly recommend him without hesitation. rookie

Mark has done a few jobs for me (rebarreling, action and trigger type stuff). He has always been pretty accurate on timing and his work is without peer. For anything I actually care about and want done right he is the only guy I will go to at this point.
