I'm in the market for a double rifle case that I Might fly with once in my lifetime. The rest of the time it will be used to transport rifles in my car from pa to colorado. My local shop has the vault v800 that is made by pelican for 140 and the the pelican 1750 for 225. For what I'm planning on doing is the pelican 1750 really worth the extra 85?

V800: Bigger (Interior: 53.00" x 16.00" x 6.00") Lighter (19.6lbs. empty) Made in Mexico 1yr warranty
1750: Smaller (Interior: 50.5" × 13.5" × 5.3": Heavier (23.59lbs.) Made in USA Lifetime warranty
The V800 will accommodate two large rifles with scopes mounted. The 1750 not so much.

I have two of the 1750 and am well pleased with them, to the point where I am going to purchase two more when I can spare the coin.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Ditto on 1750s. I have 3 that I got lightly used for a steal. It will hold 2 bolt rifles just fine. Almost bombproof.

No experience with the v800, but quite a bit with the 1750. I really like the 1750, and have traveled on airlines with it many times with two scoped rifles.

Boyt H51 Internal dimensions: 51” x 15” x 6” This case is larger than the 1750 and smaller than the V800. Two LARGE rifles, ammo and a side arm. 51” is really too short for the rifle on top. It should be set diagonally.

I own the above and their single firearm case (Cabelas branded) and am more than pleased. The single has been to Africa a few times, BC a couple and Alaska once with zero issues.
