I'm sorta looking for a tube fed Marlin bolt action. They have several models on their website but ZERO availability.

Asked at two LGS' and they can't even back order them if I wanted to wait. There's nothing on line that I can find either.

What the heck? Are they vaporware?

I've seen some during the last year, at various gunshops around the area. Sad to say, they weren't in wood, they were in plastic stocks, with molded-in sling loops. I had considered one until that point. I have an old Marlin 17V in HMR, that shoots really well, but I've not had any experience with the tube-fed rifles. I wish I'd bought one 30 years ago, when you could get them in wood.

Blu C's: I don't own a lot of Marlin bolt action rimfire Rifles but the two I do have sure shoot well.
I bought both of them used (carefully inspected then tested immediately after purchasing!) and I have been pleased as punch with them.
I also have a Model 883 Marlin in 22 Magnum that has served me and my VarmintSons especially well.
I bought that one at a gunshow.
I shop carefully and inspect closely all the used guns I buy.
I recommend you go to some Gunshows and seek out a small volume seller who will give you his phone number for contact in case your purchase from him is deficient somehow.
Good luck in your search.

I also have the same Marlin 883S .22WMR rifle. It's stainless with a laminated stock. Off the bench, I can shoot egg's at 100 yards with it all day long!

If you can find an older style, 725M, they are usually accurate rifles as well. They have a detachable magazine however.

Or you could buy a CZ 455 in .22WMR...….

I have owned 3 Marlin 883S and still have 1.

The 783/883/983 series are really useful and as accurate as any detachable magazine style Marlin that I've owned. Andy, my friend in NH, is a subsistence farmer/fisher/hunter who keeps a well worn 883S as his daily carry gun.

I have 5 Marlins in .22 MAG; 882SSV, 883S, 982S (x2), and XT22-MR. I think that they are all good shooter, but if I could only keep 1 of them, there is no question in my mind that the 1 I'd keep would be the 883S. Back in 2010 I bought a pair of the Marlin 981-TS for my kids to shoot, as they liked to fill the tubular magazine with .22 Shorts.

I have seen tube-fed Marlin .22 MAGs in the new gun racks in Omaha recently, at both Scheel's and Guns Unlimited.

I guess I missed where he specified 22WMR.

I bought a Model 781 .22 tube fed in wood from a co-worker years ago. He was going to sell it at his yard sale the next day for $40. I'm glad he mentioned it to me. I put a Simmons 3x9x32, bought nib from another guy for $30, on it. It is very accurate and consistent. I hope you find one. You will love it.

I too have recently been wanting one of these. My brother had a wood stock tube mag rifle when we were kids and it's long gone now, and I've had a recent hankering for one. Just like Blu Cs, I called everybody I could and no dice. They just aren't available. Midway had one listed but once I looked closely they had the wrong model # listed. Called them and confirmed, yep they didn't have any. I scoured every pawnshop and gunshop I could find and no luck.
After lamenting to a friend, he finally found a synthetic 981T at one of the local shops he frequents. This is the earlier model (no accu-trigger, sling swivels are screwed in not molded), not the same as the new XT. The owner said he had it in stock for a long time and nobody ever inquired about it. I was so ecstatic I paid him $50 extra for a finder's fee.
I shot 50 rounds through it the other day, not at paper but just at cans (found some BLM land close by) and it has an adequate trigger and shot where it was pointed. I just moved and haven't found a legitimate shooting range yet but as soon as I do I plan to see how it shoots on paper.
I love these clean lined rifles and long for the days when they were common place. I guess these rifles aren't as cool as all the new stuff on the market today.

I've been wanting their tube fed 22 mag, but nobody had any in stock. I don't know about the other models, but I was told the one I'm looking for should be shipping out in the 4th quarter of this year.

I bought a pair of 981TS back in 2010 'cause my kids liked to fill the magazines with .22 Shorts. Nice rifles that carry better than their clip fed cousins because they don't suffer from magazines that extend too far below the bottom of the stock.

I have a 981T also. Great shooting .22 and I like that you can load it with .22 short, .22 or .22LR. I wasn't sure I'd like the plastic stock to begin with but it suits this rifle just fine. There are 2 of them listed on Armslist right now. The tube fed Marlin's do seem to hard to come by these days.

Hard to beat a Marlin tube fed model. My old wood stocked .22 mag is an accurate sob.

Your dealer is lying. They’re easily available.

If you get one buy a case of Quiets. Negates the need for a can.

Use Quiets in my CZ 455 to eradicate pesky tree rats around the house all the time and no one is the wiser.

Played a trick on a co-worker with them one time. Loaded the mag with alternating rounds of standard velocity and quiets.....the first round was a SV, he fired a second time, and turned to look at me and asked "did it go off??" "Did I break it??" LOL
